ALA | Teens’ Top Ten | Where Teens Voice Their Choice for Their Favorite Books via kwout
Vote now through Sept. 16 for the Teens’ Top Ten! We’ll announce the winners during Teen Read Week, Oct. 16-22. Go to the voting page to see the complete list or come by The Unquiet Library to check out this year’s titles!

Very cool. How did you make those great large book mock-ups?
To create the display …
• Measure your window
• Determine size and how many book covers will fit
• Find book covers on author websites and online book stores
• Right click and save pictures to your computer, create a Word doc., insert pictures (one per page) and resize
• For this year’s nominees, add text box to each picture and insert annotation http://www.ala.org/ala/mgrps/divs/yalsa/teenreading/teenstopten/teenstopten.cfm
• Print pictures, mount on construction paper, laminate
• For previous winners’ windows, laminate several sheets of construction paper (I used white)
• Die cut numbers for award years
• For Stars 1-10 … In Word using shape tool, draw star, add text box to star and type number, copy and paste for additional stars and retype number … print and laminate stars
• Assemble on windows
• Butcher paper cut the size of window may be used instead of mounting each cover individually. For the 2011 nominees, I cut and laminated 3 inch wide strips of black butcher paper and taped around the windows as a border.
