The Unquiet Library would like to congratulate all Grizzlies who helped raise money for New Orleans public school libraries—our loose change drive raised a grand total of $1236.70.
- 1st place: Mr. Tamanini’s 7th period: $185.38 ; this class will receive a pizza party
- 2nd place: Ms. Frost’s 5th period: $144.02
- 3rd place: Ms. Hirsch’s 2nd period: $100.79
- 4th place: Ms. Taylor 6th period : $100.23
- 5th place: Ms. Nayman’s 2nd period: $83.74
- 6th place: Ms. Shearer’s 3rd period: $80.80
The 2nd—6th place classes will receive a cookie cake treat from the library. Congratulations to all!

Wow….the students of CRHS are reaching deep into their pockets to help buy books for devastated New Orleans school libraries! Here are the latest results:
- Mr. Tamanini’s 7th period continues to lead! They also brought in the most money on Thursday: they collected $37.81! Their total as of Thursday evening was $79.48.
- Mrs. Nayman’s 2nd period students have raised a total of $64.71.
- Mrs. Frost’s 5th period has donated a total of $56.81
We’d like to give special shout outs to:
- Ms. Shearer’s 3rd period raised $24.78 on Thursday!
- Ms. Hirsch’s 2nd period gets special recognition for “Biggest Bag of Pennies for the Week”!
We are at $675.52 as of 11:00 AM—today is our last day….let’s see if we can make it to $1,000.00! GO GRIZZLIES!

Attention all students: today is our quarter drive for our Book Fair and our efforts to help buy books for schools in New Orleans. Please donate any spare quarters you may have to your English teachers today! The class period that donates the most loose change by Friday afternoon will win a free pizza party from The Unquiet Library! Bring in your spare change!
The class that donated the most money on Wednesday was Mr. Tamanini’s 7th period English class!!! Mr. Tamanini’s 7th period is now winning for the most money collected by one period.
Special shout out to these great classes as well:
- Ms. Taylor’s classes: her classes collectively turned in $53.15 on Wednesday! Wow!
- Mr. Ewers 1st period has raised a total of $53.80 this week!
- Many thanks to Ms. Orfale for her generous contribution to the “One for Books” fund!
As of 12:00 today, CRHS classes have raised $404.25! WOW! We appreciate everyone who has made a donation, large or small! Thank you, and let’s see how much more money we can raise by Friday afternoon!

The class that donated the most money on Tuesday was Mr. Tamanini’s 7th period English class!!! Thank you 11th graders! Mrs. Frost’s 5th period is still in the overall lead as of Wednesday morning, so we will see how the day shapes up! Thank you to everyone who has so generously contributed!

So far, Mrs. Frost’s 5th period is stomping the competition—they brought in $22.62 on Monday!!!! Way to go 9th graders! Let’s see if the other classes can step up the donations today! You can also make donations for our efforts to buy books for school libraries in New Orleans by visiting the library.

Don’t forget to check out the book fair this week! We have many great selections for readers of all ages, especially teens!

Our Winter 2006 Book Fair officially starts today at lunch! Come browse our great selection of paperback and hardback books as well as fun little stocking stuffer gifts for your friends or yourself! Come by the library if you need a “sneak peek” book fair brochure of titles, or better yet, get a lunch pass and come browse during your lunch period. Mrs. Nayman’s classes will be visiting the book fair during class time on Tuesday, and Mrs. Orfale’s students will visit the book fair during class time on Wednesday.
Remember that all profits will be donated to help New Orleans school libraries rebuild their collections. You can also make a dollar for books donation when you purchase an item at the book fair, so please be generous during this season of giving to help other students enjoy great books in New Orleans!
