Templates for Outlines in Word 2007!

Posted by theunquietlibrary on October 2, 2008

You may already know this, but I just discovered there are several templates in Office 07 (and they can be converted to Office 97-03) for outlines. Many students seem to have difficulty with outlining or getting started with an outline, so you might want to take a peek!

1. Open Word 2007.
2. Click on the big button in the upper left hand corner and choose “new.”
3. The new document box will come up. Look on the left menu and go all the way to the bottom to choose “More categories.”

4. Now you will have a menu of choices, and you can select “Outlines” to view the outline templates.

Find A Back Issue of a Magazine in GALILEO!

Posted by theunquietlibrary on August 27, 2008

Our new GALILEO interface makes it easier than ever to find a back issue of a magazine in GALILEO!  Here is how easy it is:

1.  Go to http://www.galileo.usg.edu/high-school/cherokee-k12/magazines/ and browse the alphabetical index OR type in the name of your favorite magazine in the “search” box.

2.  Click on the magazine title you want.  A pop up window will appear—be patient!

3.  Click on the database link.

4.  Browse to the issue you want to explore.

Please note that some magazines will be extremely current while others may not have the last year’s issues.  However, you will be able to find current and recent issues for most titles.  If you don’t see what you are looking for, you can always try our GALE Student Resource Center Gold database!
