READ This: Appear In Your Own READ Poster@The Unquiet Library!
Many of you have admired and inquired about our custom ALA style READ posters featuring students and teachers in our library! These were the result of our “Fall in Love with Reading” campaign in February 2007.
Now it is time to rev up our READ campaign and encourage a love of reading once more! Here is how the READ poster campaign will work this year:
1. Any student or teacher may have his/her photo taken for a READ poster. We are not requiring the paragraph on the favorite book or poem this year; however, you still may do this if you would like!
2. Students and teachers may be photographed individually or as a group, like a “buddy” photo! We can photograph friends, classes, or even departments! All we ask is that you bring a favorite book or borrow a copy from the library for your photo.
If you prefer, you may also pose with a fav magazine.
3. We will import the photo into an ALA READ photo template and create a 8.5 x 11″ color copy for you at no charge. We will be posting the “poster” sized versions throughout the library and outside the library.
4. If you want to purchase a poster sized photo, each print will be $5 to cover our costs of ink and paper. Please allow 24-72 hours for your poster to be created.
We want to encourage all of our library patrons—students, teachers, and administrators—to come by and get photographed! We have a diverse array of templates, so you can give us an idea of a “theme” you may want if you have a preference.
