Blatant Bibliophiles and Live Poet Society Celebrate Teen Read Week!

Posted by theunquietlibrary on October 27, 2007

From Mrs. Fleet’s Blog!

The Blatant Bibliophiles Book Club and the Live Poet Society Poetry Club celebrated Teen Read Week and the 31 Flavorite Authors of October with an ice cream sundae bar today in The Unquiet Library. Chocolate and vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, M&Ms, candy corn (it is October, after all!), Hershey’s Kissables, cherries, and sprinkles provided enough carbs to give us a sugar rush for days! How long until the next celebration?

Both clubs would like to thank Mrs. Fleet the Sweet who provided all the yummy treats!  Thank you!  See photos from the celebration at Mrs. Fleet’s blog!

Posted by theunquietlibrary on October 20, 2007

We regret to announce that the Poetry Reading scheduled for Friday, October 26 has been cancelled due to lack of interest and participants (only six people had signed up through Friday afternoon).

We will try to schedule another poetry reading in December and hope to get more participation from our students and faculty at that time.

Hello, everyone! The media center has several activities planned for Teen Read Week, October 22-26. We would appreciate your assistance in encouraging student participation. Please announce these activities to your students and ask them to sign up as soon as possible with the media center if they wish to participate. We need to know how many participants to expect in planning or whether we need to cancel some activities if there is not enough interest. Students will not be admitted to the movie without an advanced pass because we have limited seating. These passes must be secured from the media center by 3:30 on Friday, October 19, 2007. We also would love to have YOU participate in our Coffeehouse Friday Poetry Reading on Friday, October 26 during your lunch hour.  Right now we have had only two teachers and one student sign up—this event is in danger of cancellation!  Help us out!   If you could read your favorite poem during that time, we would truly appreciate it. Please see us for some suggestions if you need help. This is our schedule:

Monday, October 22, 2007

Movie: The Princess Bride Open to Anyone With a Movie Pass During All Lunches.
Tuesday, October 23, 2007 Movie: The Princess Bride (Continued) Open to Anyone With a Movie Pass During All Lunches
