Library of Congress Names New Poet Laureate!

The Library of Congress has named Charles Simic as our new national poet laureate.  Simic, who won the Pulitzer Prize for poetry in 1990, just won the Wallace Stevens Award for mastery of poetry from the Academy of American Poets.  The Poet Laureate serves as a type of ambassador for poetry and is appointed by the Library of Congress annually.  You can learn more about the position of poet laureate by clicking here; you can also learn more about Charles Simic by checking out this link as well as this article.
