The Unquiet Library is thrilled to announce the latest addition to our information literacy toolbox: LibGuides! What, you may ask, is LibGuides?
LibGuides is the amazingly popular, easy to use, web 2.0 library knowledge sharing system. Librarians use it to create attractive multimedia content, share knowledge and information, and promote library resources to the community. Academic, Public, Special, and K-12 School Libraries find LibGuides an ideal solution for subject guides, information portals, course guides, community guides, research help, faculty/teacher support, etc.
How can we as school libraries use LibGuides?
School libraries find LibGuides a solution for:

- “Homework Help” guides
- “How to” guides related to various library services
- Collaborating with teachers on selecting library resources for classes
- Library Website
- Familiarizing students with tools and methods used in college-level research.
Over 500 colleges and schools are now using LibGuides! Here at Creekview High School, we are using LibGuides to create research pathfinders for your research assignments from your teachers. The LibGuides platform allows us to organize the resources for your research in a clear and consistent manner. We can also integrate our favorite books, web resources, and delicious bookmarks as well as RSS feeds, your teacher’s handouts, and a timeline of due dates for your projects. Each research guide offers you the option to print out the guide in a printer friendly manner; you can also use the “Share This” button to post or bookmark the research guide to your favorite social network!
You can go to our LibGuides home page to register for email updates so that you are notified when a new research guide is added. LibGuides work great in Explorer or Firefox browsers, too!
